(Aziriga Ignisha, 29, Master student Agrarian, Food and Environmental Studies (AFES), ISS The Hague)
“In Ghana, I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Integrated Development Studies. I am currently doing a Master’s Programme in Development Studies at ISS. I feel privileged to be able to study here in The Hague. After each class, I feel stronger and more mature because of the knowledge I have acquired – ISS makes me a better person!
I want to apply this knowledge when I return to Ghana. I want to work for the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD). The COCOBOD is engaged in many ways in the production of cocoa, coffee and shea nut. All the farmers sell their products to COCOBOD and they take care of good trade. It is a very important organisation for the welfare of the people in my country.
My husband is currently doing his PhD in Australia. When I graduate from ISS, I will go there and stay with him – finally. After his graduation, we’ll return to Ghana to contribute to the socio-economic development of our country.”
