“She had been my best friend for ten years when we got into a major fight. Since we were five years old we shared everything, would spend every day together and even had sleepovers during school holidays.
Our quarrel was about drugs. We were both fifteen and she was in an experimental phase, using cannabis more frequently. When she confessed she’d tried ecstasy I got very angry. I was worried, of course, but she felt that I interfered with her too much. Things got out of hand and we didn’t speak to each other for a long time.
Thank God we made up in the end and as before, we now see each other every day. We share a good laugh but also problems and sorrows. We’re always honest with each other, even if the truth is confrontational. That is ultimately what friendship is about.
Last summer we went to Marmaris, our first holiday together, to celebrate our friendship. We had a great time!”
